Observational Drawing Using toy animal models, students learned to site and apply tone to their drawings. Beginning with close observation to achieve proportion, they accurately measured and plotted before proceeding to the rendering techniques of hatching, scumbling and tonal graduation. The final outcome gives the illusion of a finished three-dimensional animal.- Hilary Breman

Mythological Creatures Year 8 students used a design process to develop their own Mythological Creature. They used a variety of digital software to create a hybrid animal. They explored, developed and consolidated their concepts through sketches, and came up with a final design. - Hilary Breman

Mythological Creatures - Sculptures Students used the design process to create these imaginative Mythological Creatures. Firstly they created the armature with wire, foil and newspaper. Then came the "bone" structure, which was manipulated into position. The students then covered the bones with paper clay "muscle & flesh" before applying the painted "skin", so to speak. Voila! - Hilary Breman
